General Questions

How long has Brent Doscher Photography been in business?

Brent Doscher Photography was founded by Brent Doscher in 2006 out of a college dorm room at the University of New Hampshire. The company originally began as an outlet to sell prints of lacrosse games, and hasn't stopped growing since.

What sort of work do you specialize in?

Brent Doscher Photography specializes in sports and event photography. This includes but is not limited to: triathlons, weddings, road cycling, corporate events, running races, mountain biking, skiing, snowboarding, and just about any team sport that you can think of! We're always looking for new challenges, so if you have something else in mind, let us know!

Who are some organizations that you have done work for in the past?

The list of customers that Brent Doscher Photography has provided photography services to is one that is forever growing, and would be far too boring for you to list out entirely! However, some of these organizations include: NorEast Cycling, UNH Cycling, UNH Lacrosse, PCLL Lacrosse League, The New Hampshire newspaper, The Concord Monitor, Capstone Photography, Action Sports International, ActionPhotos.com, and LaxNation.com, as well as numerous individuals and race organizations all over the NorthEast.

How many people work at Brent Doscher Photography?

This is a question that comes up often. You read the word "we" a lot on this page, and if you give us a call you'll hear the same thing. The company is run primarily by myself, Brent Doscher, but I do have other independent photographers who help out when assistance is needed, such as during races where photographers needs to be stationed at three different points at once. It's hard to do that by myself, so I bring in other photographers to make sure we capture every special moment of your event.

What are your rates, and how do I hire Brent Doscher Photography to capture my event?

Our rates for events can be found on our rates page, and through that page you can also contact us if are interested in having us photograph your event!

Smugmug Ordering and Printing Questions

Are the images edited before they are printed?

Yes, absolutely. Many event photography companies will not bother processing images before they send them off to the lab to be printed, but that is a critical step in making sure you receive an incredible product. After you place an order, your image is hand-edited for optimal color, sharpness, and exposure before it is sent to the lab. Because of this, there is a delay in the time between your photo is ordered and the file gets sent to the printer, but this delay is limited to three days at most, and generally takes less than one day to process.

What in the world is the lost and found area of my event?

The lost and found area is a great little chaotic section full of all the photos that we couldn't identify. Whether your number is obscured or we simply couldn't make out one of the digits on your number, we place it in the lost and found. And if we're not certain whether we can read the number correctly, it will go in here as well. Otherwise, if we were to read bib number 126 as 726, then it would go in an entirely different folder, one that you would probably never check!

Why do you only organize in groups of bib numbers instead of specific bib numbers?

We do this to keep the cost lower for you. Many of the big companies have automated processes for this exact task, but we don't. Organizing into groups takes less time and therefore costs less for you. We think it's a good compromise between specific numbers and no organization at all.

I arrive at a different page when searching for photos sometimes, a Photoreflect storefront. Which page should I use?

When the company began, it was called Doscher Sports Shots. However, the name was changed later to allow more potential directions for services. Photoreflect was our previous photo storefront site, but with the name change our storefront was also changed. Smugmug has been a much more enjoyable experience! The Photoreflect site was recently deleted as its new processing system requires Windows and we operate on Macs. If you are looking for older photos, please don't hesitate to contact us!
